Race Recap - Jettribe Mid-America WaterX Series, Baytown TX by Nautiwater Racing Race Director Justin Smith: "The Heat was on in Texas as all racers and families prepared for a return to the epic Jetski racing stage at Genes Powersports in Baytown, Texas, a long-time favorite venue for IJSBA closed-course racing action. Many attendees looked to qualify for the Jettribe Nationals coming August 4-7 and the IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City in October. Kicking off the weekend on Friday was the JR Stars and beginner race clinic. All of our young talents were dialed in and ready for the Texas Showdown by sunset. Saturday morning came with anticipation and excitement. The grounds were manicured, the starting line was set, Towers was dressed out with Jettribe banners and there were crowds deep along the shores. There were tents and trailers with smiles for miles, and the smell of 2-stroke gas hit you as racers were preparing their skis. We were back to racing at Genes… almost like we had never left. It felt like a homecoming. Everyone endured the rider's meeting as we covered all safety details for the weekend, and then we were on to practice and motos before we hit 100 degrees. Water churned up quick like a washing machine as we filled the lines and witnessed some heated water battles throughout all 14 motos."
Now racers continue on to the final 3 rounds of the Mid-America Series. Rounds 7 & 8 will take place this weekend in Lawrence, KS, followed by Chattanooga, TN July 30th. Racers will then travel back to Texas for both the Mid-America Championship & Central Nationals Championship in Sulphur Springs August 4 - 7, 2022.
