Race Report: Changwon Korea Jettribe International Race Team
Posted by Jettribe Staff on 5th Apr 2023
Jettribe is beyond proud of our International family racing team. Our mission is to bring together a very elite, family-oriented, and loyal small group of racers that we support for years. Some may consider sponsorship as just gear support, but we see it as a long-term international racing family. It goes well beyond just supported gear.
We reflect on the 100’s of racers we were able to help send over multiple decades to various countries such as Hungary, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and more. The racers get to experience new cultures, but their off-the-water actions show their true character. Two weeks ago we had a team of 5 racers travel to South Korea to represent the Jettribe International race team. Unfortunately, one of our racers, Christian Cagnard from Sweden, was involved in a collision in Moto 1 that resulted in him being hurt.
We want to acknowledge our racer, Bailey Cunningham, who saw the collision happen and sacrificed his position in the race to go to his teammate’s rescue. This was at a crucial point so Christian would not suffer further injury.
We are extremely proud of all the other team members that reached podium in Motos 2 & 3. They received cash prizes that they all agreed to award to Christian.
We all understand watercraft racing is a dangerous sport. We never want to see this happen anywhere, and we are grateful that Christian will make a full recovery. We thank Jettribe Korea and the ground staff for their ongoing support of this incident.
Once again, we were astonished by our racer's actions, and they are true heroes in our eyes.
