Recently 5 Jettribe Team Riders had the opportunity to travel to Korea to represent Jettribe and our Jettribe Korea partners for the 2023 Changwon Motorboat Grand Prix. Each racer represented a different country in the Pro-Am Runabout Superstock class. Here is a trip report from Australia Team Rider Bailey Cunningham:
The opportunity
to travel to South Korea was an awesome experience. Not only did I get to
spend time with friends from around the world, but I got to race in a
Fantastic event.
I jumped on a
plane from Brisbane Australia and after a long plane trip landed in Soul
Korea where I realized I had packed for the wrong weather, landing in
below 10 degress in shorts and a t-shirt. I was
greeted at the airport and off to the hotel. The hotel was five stars and I met up with some other members of the Jettribe team. We went for dinner at the Korean BBQ where there was so much food and it
was beautiful. The next morning, we jumped on
the bus and headed for a 6 hour drive to the race course and our hotel.
The race site was like a festival with food stalls and markets lining
the street. In front of the market was carnival rides and music
stage.
We walked to the
race site where we met other riders and got to see the skis and race
track. There were TV cameras everywhere. Thank you Yulia (Jettribe Russia) for a jacket to
keep me warm. On the Sunday we
raced and it was an awesome experience racing a stock Seadoo in the Open Runabout Class, finishing 5th overall for the weekend.
After racing the awards presentation took place on a huge stage and then we jumped on the bus
and headed back to Soul where I spent the last night. Then it was time to head home
I would like to thank Jettribe USA and Jettribe Korea for the opportunity and excellent hospitality.
